Get to know me!

For the past 5 years I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for my son, Dean, and my daughter, Belle. I was a restaurant server for almost 7 years before I found out that I was going to become a mother of twins! After my babies were a year old, I continued to stay at home but occasionally picked up shifts as a way to get out of the house and stay social. That is, until I decided to pursue my photography passion as an independent business. On my free time I enjoy drinking coffee, playing with makeup, and wine tasting on date night. Tackling on motherhood with my partner-in-crime, Scott, has taught me to embrace the small bits of chaos and stay present, time passes too quickly! That’s why I LIVE for the real, candid moments and capturing it all through my camera lens.

fun fact: this image was taken with my first DSLR camera and unedited

How it all started!

I started enjoying photography back when disposal cameras were still available everywhere. I remember always taking pictures, for example, at summer camp because I wanted to document special events in my life throughout a collection of images. That resulted in a LOT of 4X6 prints taking up space in my closet. In my early 20’s, my dad bought me my first DSLR camera. I had no clue how to use it or what to take pictures of so I ended up taking pictures of my friends who had kids. I’d bring my camera to playdates at the park, holiday celebrations, and children’s birthday parties to practice and learn how to use the different camera settings. Years later I became a mother myself and had the most two adorable models to photograph. Attempting a “perfect image” where my twins were looking at the camera at the same time while wearing the most adorable outfits was near impossible. I quickly realized that need to enjoy that moment the way it happened and my candid images had captured the moment perfectly.

Shout out to Debi for sneaking this picture of me during Trista’s senior session

What to expect during a session with me!

Throughout my sessions I’m always trying to capture at least one image where the every member of the family is all looking at the camera with a smile. Those images are traditional and timeless. I’ll admit, it doesn’t always happen though. That’s when I shift the focus from “look at the camera and smile” to something fun and candid with the result of genuine smiles and laughs! Whether I’m photographing portraits, families, or couples, my main goal is to make individuals feel comfortable. Don’t worry if you “don’t know what to do” throughout your session, I’m here to make you feel comfortable so I can capture the sincere expressions and meaningful moments during your session.
